Steven Ross is a documentary film and commercial editor and director based in Brooklyn, New York. He has edited projects for platforms including Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, and The New York Times. In 2020, he edited the New York Times Op-Docs short documentary Hysterical Girl, which was accepted into SXSW and shortlisted for the Academy Awards in 2021.

That same year, Ross began editing all six episodes of the Netflix documentary series The Andy Warhol Diaries. Released in March 2022, the series was nominated for Best Documentary Series at the 74th Emmy Awards, and Ross earned a 2023 ACE Award nomination for Best Edited Documentary (Non-Theatrical) for his work.

He next edited the Netflix documentary Mr. McMahon, which premiered in September 2024 and debuted as the platform’s #2 show globally. Most recently, Ross edited the HBO Max series Billy Joel: And So It Goes, which premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival before its wider release.

Between editing projects, Ross continues to develop and direct his own films.
